The Ruacana Falls is located on the Kunene River in the Omusati Region in northern Namibia, near Ruacana. It is 120 meters high and 700 meters wide, making it the largest waterfall in Africa in terms of both width and volume.
When it comes to the Ruacana Falls, it is important to mention the distinction between the dry season and the rainy season. During the rainy season, the waterfall is fed by abundant water sources, cascading down from the mountains with a majestic force, resembling a continuous flood pouring from the sky. In contrast, during the dry season, the waterfall dries up, leaving only tall mountains and the crisp trees growing on them, with no trace of the waterfall. Therefore, the best time to admire the Ruacana Falls is during the rainy season when the water is plentiful, and the deafening roar and the white satin-like flow of the waterfall can be heard and seen from afar. Below the falls is a deep canyon 115 meters deep and 600 meters wide, where the rushing water descends from the mountaintop into the profound gorge.
